Assessor Network

This network supports the work of existing and new assessors from the Scarlet Alliance National Training Project (SANTP).

Existing Cert IV qualified Trainers and Assessors were trained as part of the SANTP workshops in 2003. New Assessors have received training in the assessment of the Scarlet Alliance Diploma of Community Education in 2006. These individuals contribute to the professional development of other peer educators in their own workplaces and throughout Australia.

Their work in promoting the National Training Project, in assessing and mentoring other peer educators means the network participants are promoting a best practice level of service delivery in Australia.

A number of peer educators have now obtained the Scarlet Alliance Diploma of Community Education qualification after completing a comprehensive assessment process with a peer assessor.

The Scarlet Alliance Assessors Network brings together assessors from around Australia in a forum that aims to -

  • promote skill sharing and problem solving opportunities
  • promote information sharing
  • enable development of skill links between remote assessors
  • assist in promoting mentoring between existing and new assessors
  • develop shared aims amongst assessors
  • ensure sustainability of the National Training Package by the training of new assessors

By bringing together Assessors and Trainers from around Australia we support the ongoing professional development of workers within our sector.

This project has enabled Scarlet Alliance to operationalise outcomes from the Scarlet Alliance National Training Project (SANTP) Sustainability Strategy.
