Migration Project Officer

Multilingual - Thai or Cantonese or Mandarin or Korean and English

(part-time 1-2 days per week) Sydney, Australia 10 month position

This pilot project aims to enhance the capacity of sex worker peer educators in Australia to provide support to migrant sex workers.

The successful applicant will have sex work experience and be multilingual - English and Thai, Cantonese, Mandarin or Korean. This position will network closely with the Scarlet Alliance membership in order to improve capacity of peer educators delivering services to migrant sex workers. The position operates within the Migration project team. The successful applicant will be based at the Scarlet Alliance Sydney office, and will be required to undertake interstate work travel and may be required to undertake international work travel.

The role contributes to effective representation of migrant sex workers needs and provides referral, advice and information on laws, migration rights and responsibilities, services and access to justice, to sex worker peer educators in Australia. The Migration Project Officer will contribute to the development of resources and contribute to a Migrant sex worker steering group.

Finance Administration Officer

(permanent part-time 3 days per week) Sydney, Australia

This position acts as the Scarlet Alliance Finance Administration Officer; contributing to the effective financial management of the organisation and effective operation of the Sydney office, assisting the organisation to meet audit and incorporation requirements and providing administration support to the organisation.

The successful applicant will have sex work experience and be passionate about numbers, have a keen eye for detail and accuracy, be good at problem solving, have strong organisational and problem solving skills and either have experience with MYOB or a strong willingness to learn the computer program (training is offered for this position).
